Please don't run big jobs like printing out user manuals, etc. Printing an occasional publication of up to 20 pages is okay. Please use duplex printing to save paper.

We have a Brother MFC-L2740DW printer and scanner. You can access it through IP address 172.19.118.66.

Please don't run big jobs like printing out user manuals, etc. Printing an occasional publication of up to 20 pages is okay. Please use duplex printing to save paper.

Please do not use any other printers in the building without permission by the owner.

Scanning is tough to set up, but printing is easy.

Printer Installation in Linux

  • sudo system-config-printer
  • In "Printer Configuration" window: click "New"
  • In "New Printer" window:
    • Under "Select Device", in "Network Printer section" click "Find Network Printer"
    • Enter printer's IP address in box on right under "Network Printer"
    • Click "Find"
    • Click "Forward"
    • Under "Choose Driver" select "Select printer from database"
    • Under "Makes" select "Brother"
    • Click "Forward"
    • Under "Models" select "MFC-L2740DW", under "Drivers" leave the default
    • In "Installable Options" window: check "Duplex Unit"
    • Click "Forward"
    • Under "Describe Printer" leave defaults and click "Apply"
