Openings at KAUST University

Visualization Systems Administrator
Reports to: Visualization Laboratory Manager Full Time.
Position Summary: The Visualization Systems Administrator, as part of a team, will maintain all aspects of visualization systems within the KAUST Visualization Laboratory. Will perform a variety of assignments associated with the monitoring and controlling of the visualization systems, to include the installation and testing of software, initiating and performing preventive maintenance on the operating systems, performing diagnostic tests as necessary, and other duties as required to support system utilization. Will review and prepare documentation for the computer system and supports the planning of system/environment requirements for research projects. Will manage user accounts and assist in the operation of user activity within visualization facilities.
Major Responsibilities: • Maintain and troubleshoot the laboratories linux based visualization systems. • Respond to user requests for system support and assistance. • Administer staff and user system accounts. • Software installation and management for the visualization systems within the lab • Script based programming to enhance visualization systems. • Maintain linux based computer clusters in support of tiled displays. • Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests and installation of software • Administer systems solutions for multiple projects within the lab • Preparation of system resource reports. • System performance tuning

Visualization Systems Engineer
Reports to: Visualization Laboratory Manager Full Time.
Position Summary: The Visualization Systems Engineer, as part of a team, will maintain multiple aspects of visualization systems within the KAUST Visualization Laboratory. Will perform a variety of assignments associated with the monitoring and controlling of the visualization systems, to include the installation, configuring and testing of hardware, initiating and performing preventive hardware systems maintenance, performing diagnostic system tests as necessary, and other duties as required to support system utilization. Will review and prepare documentation for the computer system and supports the planning of system/environment requirements for research projects.
Major Responsibilities: • Maintain and troubleshoot the laboratories linux based visualization systems. • Hardware installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades; analyze and resolve issues. • Maintain linux based computer clusters in support of tiled displays. • Troubleshoot and debug visualization, GPU, and commodity hardware systems. • Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests and installation of systems hardware. • Administer systems solutions for multiple projects within the lab • Preparation of system resource reports. • System performance tuning
