In order to convert .tff -> .osga, run: 

        osgdem -xx 10 --yy 10 -t filename.tif -l 3 -a archiveName.osga

        osgdem --help


To load the .osga file into covise, the file needs to be included in: 

        covise/config/ivl.xml  ->   under <Image><Files> <nameInPluginsList value="filename">
