Director's Collaboratory Instructions

The following instructions are for running CalVR with the Future Patient demonstration on the 6x4 tiled display wall in the WAVE lab.

Turn Displays On/Off

  • Log in to head node (67.58.52.98) as user calvr.
  • In terminal window type "wall_on" on, "wall_off" for off.

Run CalVR

  • In main menu, click on "Applications" button.
  • Click on "CalVR (Director's Collaboratory)" button to open the CalVR menu.
  • Click "Enable CalVR X Mode".
  • Wait until all screens show the Calit2 logo.
  • Click "CalVR ON".
  • Two options to control the Future Patient application:
    • Open the control panel by clicking on "Future Patient Console" in the CalVR menu.
    • Open the control panel on a cell phone or tablet by browsing to http://vrremote.calit2.net.
    • Log in as user "calit2".

Other Commands

  • To use separate displays for x server: "sudo clustersep"
